cal­cIT was devel­oped as a low-code plat­form so that all inter­face ele­ments and masks as well as all cal­cu­la­tion rules, log­ic, out­put doc­u­ments, mas­ter data records and import map­pings can be cre­at­ed and adapt­ed direct­ly in the brows­er with­out any pro­gram­ming knowl­edge. This means that your indi­vid­ual require­ments for your cal­cu­la­tion, con­fig­u­ra­tion and quo­ta­tion cre­ation can be imple­ment­ed with max­i­mum flex­i­bil­i­ty.

Project Structures

Project struc­tures are mapped using free com­po­nent types. These include devices, assem­blies, mate­ri­als, pur­chased parts or “canned” texts. These com­po­nent types can be nest­ed and com­bined at any point in the struc­ture, so that indi­vid­ual require­ments can be mapped at any time.

Changes to cus­tomiz­ing can be ver­sioned and there­fore do not affect release capa­bil­i­ty in any way. A new or adapt­ed cal­cIT con­fig­u­ra­tion can be trans­port­ed eas­i­ly and con­ve­nient­ly, e.g. between the devel­op­ment and pro­duc­tion sys­tems.

User Interface

Our graph­i­cal edi­tor allows you to eas­i­ly adapt and edit inter­faces and ele­ments in cal­cIT, such as com­po­nent or mas­ter data types. New input fields can be cre­at­ed just as quick­ly as entire tables or for­mat­ting rules.

Calculation Rules

In a cal­cu­la­tion rule edi­tor, com­mon cal­cu­la­tion meth­ods and all usable attrib­ut­es are stored trans­par­ent­ly and com­pre­hen­si­bly and can be com­bined with just a few clicks. For com­plex for­mu­las, it is also pos­si­ble to enter any JavaScript func­tion. Rela­tion­ships between com­po­nents are defined in the hier­ar­chy edi­tor. This is also where you deter­mine how attrib­ut­es should be summed up ver­ti­cal­ly.

Every object and every func­tion in cal­cIT can be addressed indi­vid­u­al­ly using rights and roles. Roles, which con­sist of a spe­cif­ic set of rights, can be freely defined and assigned to indi­vid­ual users.

A user can also hold sev­er­al roles at the same time or take on dif­fer­ent roles in oth­er busi­ness units. View sets can be used to con­fig­ure indi­vid­ual inter­faces with spe­cif­ic infor­ma­tion and input fields for the respec­tive pur­pose for dif­fer­ent users and user groups.

In addi­tion to con­trol­ling indi­vid­ual projects, cal­cIT makes it pos­si­ble to eval­u­ate cross-project key fig­ures. Cre­ate com­pre­hen­sive Excel reports across all projects cre­at­ed in cal­cIT, for exam­ple depend­ing on cer­tain divi­sions, time peri­ods or key fig­ures. Using project man­age­ment in the CPQ soft­ware, freely defin­able key fig­ures and attrib­ut­es can be fil­tered and com­pared quick­ly and clear­ly direct­ly in the pro­gram.

FINANCIAL DASHBOARDS

With a dash­board for finan­cial key fig­ures, cal­cu­lat­ed val­ues ​​in cal­cIT can be con­densed and pre­sent­ed clear­ly at project or ver­sion lev­el. Fore­cast­ed sales fig­ures can be used to deter­mine cash flow streams, ROIs, amor­ti­za­tion cycles and a wide range of key fig­ures over the entire life cycle of your prod­uct.

The range of func­tions of the CPQ soft­ware also includes the cal­cu­la­tion of cost and sales shares or the iden­ti­fi­ca­tion of cost dri­vers. Key fig­ures from dif­fer­ent project ver­sions can be com­pared either direct­ly in cal­cIT or via an Excel report.

FILLING COST BOOKS

Excel tem­plates can be used to fill the cost books that your cus­tomers often use as a require­ment. If these con­tain var­i­ous types of costs that are not includ­ed in your stan­dard cal­cu­la­tion, you can define rules that adapt your cost struc­ture to that of the respec­tive cost book.

To reduce this effort, we also offer a flex­i­ble Excel add-in that can be used to intu­itive­ly cre­ate the appro­pri­ate Excel tem­plates.

The diverse and exten­sive export options to Excel ensure flex­i­ble and freely defin­able data out­put. You can access all attrib­ut­es defined in cal­cIT, spec­i­fy new cal­cu­la­tion oper­a­tions and freely choose the appear­ance and for­mat of the out­put.

To cre­ate tab­u­lar reports in Excel, you can down­load the free Jasper Reports tool direct­ly in cal­cIT. This tool allows the exten­sive con­fig­u­ra­tion of Excel tem­plates, for exam­ple for the clear pre­sen­ta­tion of parts lists, pur­chase parts lists, bud­gets, WBS struc­tures, work plans or cost reports.

You can access all attrib­ut­es defined in cal­cIT, spec­i­fy new cal­cu­la­tion oper­a­tions and freely define the appear­ance and for­mat of the out­put. Numer­ous para­me­ters allow addi­tion­al refine­ment and para­me­ter­i­za­tion of the out­put.
