Schuler creates calculations and offers for a wide variety of machines and systems in various business areas. The offers range from product variants to individual large-scale systems for automobile manufacturers. Calculations are made with the help of reusable components. These are stored in so-called libraries and are adapted to individual requirements. Before calcIT, Schuler used a self-developed tool and Excel solutions for calculations. These tools were no longer sufficient for Schuler’s requirements. Therefore, a new, consistent solution with central data storage should be found.

First, Schuler Group GmbH’s calculation scheme was mapped within the calcIT software in coordination with the company. Particularly important was the presentation of cross-company projects, such as partial and sub-deliveries, within the Schuler Group. By introducing appropriate transfer rules, the company was now able to combine individual calculations into complex, large-scale global projects.

Some requirements have been implemented specifically for Schuler. This includes the mapping of global intercompany processes and group-wide collaboration, the price calculation for quotes based on previously quoted systems, with respect to inflationary factors, and the mapping of configuration templates and print templates for integrated quotation creation for standard machines.
