The project

From com­plex Excel tables and incon­sis­tent data stor­age to flex­i­ble cal­cu­la­tion options for com­plex spe­cial machines in a cen­tral tool.

INITIAL SITUATION

Before intro­duc­ing cal­cIT, Manz AG cal­cu­lat­ed using an Excel tem­plate. This tool did not offer any inter­faces to oth­er upstream or down­stream sys­tems. As a result, the cal­cu­la­tion involved a lot of man­u­al effort. How­ev­er, since the com­pa­ny oper­ates in a dynam­ic envi­ron­ment, it is essen­tial for Manz to react quick­ly to new cir­cum­stances. Due to the high degree of flex­i­bil­i­ty and quick adapt­abil­i­ty of cal­cIT, the quo­ta­tion cal­cu­la­tion at Manz is made more trans­par­ent and sim­pler and most­ly auto­mat­ed.

SPECIALLY IMPLEMENTED REQUIREMENTS

Manz AG now ben­e­fits from some func­tion­al­i­ties. For exam­ple, Excel reports with graph­ics, mass changes using manip­u­la­tion rules, map­ping an approval work­flow or imple­ment­ing var­i­ous views (“View sets”) for dif­fer­ent employ­ees. The tool has also been set up for glob­al use.

What impressed us about cal­cIT was its high flex­i­bil­i­ty and quick adapt­abil­i­ty. In our opin­ion, cal­cIT is suit­able for both stan­dard and spe­cial machine con­struc­tion in all indus­tries. The mas­ter libraries can be designed indi­vid­u­al­ly and can there­fore cov­er high and low lev­els of stan­dard­iza­tion.
