IWK – about the company
IWK Verpackungstechnik GmbH, with a 125-year history of success, focuses on the efficient and attractive packaging of pharmaceutical and cosmetic goods and is now the market leader for automatic tube filling machines. IWK has an international presence, with two production facilities in Germany and one in Thailand. The company produces cartoning machines, specifically designed to meet the requirements for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. IWK also offers flexible, high-performance machines that are used to collect, sort and align various products during the production process.
The project
IWK Verpackungstechnik GmbH uses calcIT to create customer quotations. The calculation of different price list items supports the control and calculation of costs, alongside an SAP integration with the ability to add additional data via Excel (Excel add-in).
INITIAL SITUATION
Before calcIT was introduced at IWK, the company used various tools for creating quotations and performing calculations – including Excel. This included very time-consuming data transfer between systems, and constant maintenance and renewal of price list item data.
SPECIALLY IMPLEMENTED REQUIREMENTS
Custom requirements and functionalities for IWK have been implemented in calcIT. For example, approval workflows were mapped, the calculation and quotation creation process were unified, and the implementation of various views (“view sets”) was set up for different employee groups.
calcIT’s Value Add
Better transparency when preparing offers: about the individual cost types and calculated planned hours per department
Simple data transfer with the interface to SAP, as calcIT automatically pulls the data from SAP and uses these prices to calculate the individual items
Better control and calculation of costs possible through the calculation of different price list items
calcIT is an ideal solution for mechanical engineering companies. We recommend calcIT because of its smooth implementation and efficient functions. Above all, we value the maintaining and creating of new price list items as well as the connection to SAP.
